Learning Design Challenge Awards Gold & Silver

Intrepid Learning is proud to have received two Learning Design Challenge Awards at Training Magazine's Online Learning Conference in Chicago on September 22nd:

  • Gold in the Social/Collaborative Learning category for Intrepid's design and delivery of VitalSmarts' "Trainer Certification: Crucial Conversations" certification program
  • Silver in the MicroLearning category for Intrepid's design and delivery of Capital City Bank's "Teller Learning Hub" onboarding program

VitalSmarts' "Trainer Certification: Crucial Conversations" is a highly effective online version of their 'train the trainer' certification course, designed for a spaced learning approach with lots of learner interaction. The judges who awarded Intrepid Gold in the Social/Collaborative Learning category praised in particular the "Teachback" capstone project for the course. Learners record a video of themselves delivering training with live participants, upload the video to the platform, and receive both master trainer and peer review feedback on it—a great example of just one of the ways Intrepid's video upload and peer review features can be leveraged for applied learning, so learners can learn from each other in engaging and immediately impactful ways.

Capital City Bank's "Teller Training Hub" has simplified the process of onboarding new tellers, in addition to providing performance support for experienced tellers.  The judges highlighted these aspects of the microlearning approach of the "Teller Training Hub" in particular:

  • Excellent example of responsive design for desktop and mobile
  • Thumbnail-driven learning paths
  • Push notifications as new content is added

The intuitive Intrepid platform layout and interactive options help new tellers make sense of all the disparate things they need to learn, and is effective for tracking the skills and knowledge required for compliance, and job performance tracking. Capital City Bank has also had great success with what L&D professionals agree can be a tough road—getting experienced tellers to actually use self-directed performance support tools. Capital City Bank's experienced tellers have found the self-directed learning experience and gamification elements to be very engaging, and very useful for refreshers and getting updates as regulations change.

These accolades join Intrepid's growing list of industry awards recognizing the impact our technology is having on our clients' ability to meet their critical business challenges with online learning (including sales enablement, onboarding, leadership development) using a variety of approaches (including self-directed, blended learning, and cohort-driven corporate MOOCs) for all kinds of companies (technology, healthcare, professional services, financial, manufacturing, and more) and all learner levels (brand-new to senior partner).
